Initial consultation

I’ll educate myself about the web-related opportunities available for your business.
I’ll put together a time frame and a quote.
Design
I’ll produce some design ideas to define the look and feel of the website.
Some people start the process with a clear idea of how they would like their website to look. Others have a completely blank canvas.
Content
Once the design has been agreed, you provide me with any copy, images, logos or other material that we have agreed on. It is at this stage that we will think about the keywords and descriptions that will be submitted to search engines.
Code and review
I’ll now write the code to transform the idea into a working website. At this stage I’ll upload the ‘work in progress’ to an area that you can access. This will enable you to see how it’s taking shape. As I am writing the code I’ll test it using different media such as smart phones, iPads and use various browsers to ensure that it’s compatible across different mediums.
Publish the website
The big launch!
At this point I will register your website with appropriate directories and search engines.
Updates and Maintenance
You can choose how much or how little you do. All of my websites can be written in such a way that the content and images can be edited by the client. If you wish to do this I can recommend some free editing software and provide training on how use this and maintain your website. Alternatively I can manage your website for you. I charge £25 per hour for updates and maintenance.

We will go through the initial consultation process as for a bespoke website.
Once we have worked out your requirements I will look at some templates that could be modified to suit your needs
When we have decided on how the website is going to look I’ll email you a list of items that you need to provide. (These will be images, text and logos). Once I have all of these I will create and upload your website.
Costs
There is no typical website cost as clients needs vary widely. However as a guide a simple 4-6 page template site could cost as little as £180. Bespoke sites start from £250 inclusive of a years hosting. Updates are charged £25 an hour with a minimum charge of half an hour.
Website Design Review
Do you have a website which you would like to improve? I can review your website and offer advice on how to improve its performance or its ‘look and feel’.
Standalone Website Build
Standalone Website Build You may already have a domain name and wish to organise your own hosting. I can build you a web page or website and hand it over to you to manage. Costs start from £80 for a single page.
Re code website
You may have a website which has been created using an off the shelf program. Perhaps it looks great but is difficult to navigate and is not being picked up by the search engines. I can rewrite your website from scratch using code that is standards compliant. This will ensure that it meets with accessibility guidelines and easy to use.
Hosting
Approach Web Design South Manchester can provide stand alone hosting. This costs from £2.50 per month or £25 per year.
